LIBBE Colonic System.

The LIBBE — an acronym for 'Lower Intestinal Bottom Bowel Evacuation' — is a proprietary open-system device manufactured by Specialty Health Products in Georgia. It is FDA-registered as a Class II device and is one of the two most common purpose-built open-system units in North American wellness clinics, along with Angel of Water.

Also known as: LIBBE, Specialty Health Products LIBBE, LIBBE open system
45–60 min session $85–160 per session
I. How the LIBBE differs from a generic open system

The LIBBE integrates a sanitization system, a warming element for water, a single-use disposable rectal nozzle, and a purpose-built basin into a single engineered unit. Generic open-system tables often combine off-the-shelf plumbing with a reservoir — functional but without the sanitization certification. The LIBBE's FDA registration applies to the device as a whole, including its cleaning protocol. This is the main practical difference between 'I use a LIBBE' and 'I use a generic open-system table.'

II. Why practitioners choose LIBBE

Predictable sanitization, familiar UX for returning clients (the nozzle, position, and flow feel the same across any LIBBE clinic), manufacturer support and consumable supply chain, and a built-in certification path through LIBBE's own training and through I-ACT courses that include LIBBE-specific modules. For clinic owners, it is the most common 'buy once, use for ten years' open-system purchase.

III. What the session feels like

Very similar to any open system: client arrives, intake, positioning on the LIBBE table (semi-reclined), self-insertion of the single-use nozzle with practitioner guidance, fill-and-release cycles for 45 to 60 minutes. Practitioner is present in the room or just outside, provides light abdominal massage and coaching, and manages water temperature via the device's controls.

IV. Typical session length

45 to 60 minutes of active hydrotherapy, 75 to 90 minute full appointment. Some LIBBE clinics offer 'short session' options (30 minutes) for returning clients on maintenance schedules, but a first session should always be full-length.

V. What you pay and why

$85 to $160 per session in US cities, with wide regional variation. LIBBE-specific pricing is slightly higher than generic open-system because of the device's branding, manufacturer overhead, and certification linkage. Most LIBBE clinics offer three- and six-session packages, often bundled with herbal or coffee add-ons.

VI. What The Editors would ask

Is your LIBBE unit current-generation or an earlier model? How often is it serviced by Specialty Health Products? Are disposable nozzles always single-use? How long have you been LIBBE-trained specifically, and are you also I-ACT certified? Can I see the sanitation log or protocol?
